This week we have visited O’Reilly’s Fish & Chips in Castlemartyr, Co. Cork, just one of the six fantastic takeaways in the O’Reilly Group and all of them loyal users of the Smedes Golden Crispy Batter Mix for the last 2 years! We were treated by Kenneth Kearney, Head of Operations to Fish & Chips cooked to perfection by John Drake – fresh cod in Smedes batter, O’Reilly’s own freshly cut Irish potato chips accompanied by the best mushy peas I have ever had. What a treat!
Kenneth highlights “Our great Fish & Chips is also due to the Smedes Golden Crispy batter Mix, we tested a lot of products at the time but Smedes is really the best around. The batter doesn’t need pre-dusting, has a great pick-up and most importantly as the fish hits the fryer, the crust is closed so the fish doesn’t soak up any oil. This gives a great crispy bite and tastes fantastic! It is so easy to use, we definitely won’t change our batter any day soon!”
